Quetzal Awards Honoring Individuals & Orgs

Started in 2014, the Latino Leadership Council’s Quetzal Awards recognize and honor individuals and organizations that go the extra step or two to provide services to and advocate for the Latino community, and serve as an example to others. Quetzal Award recipients work in close collaboration with others to ensure that the community is being served in the best way possible.

Three Quetzal Awards are presented each year, one for each of three categories: Health Care, Education and Youth Development.

What is a Quetzal?

Resplendent QuetzalThe national bird of Guatemala, the Quetzal can be found throughout Mexico and Central America. Although easily recognizable and iconic for its majestic colors and long, flowing plumage, the Quetzal has fame for being elusive and is the prized sighting of many an ornithologist and bird watcher.

Like the Quetzal itself, the individuals and organizations the Quetzal Award seeks to honor are often hidden and hard to find, yet make an incredible impression and life-changing impact on those with whom they come in contact.
